·
I moved to Norfolk from
Nottingham in 1993 and although I came from a loving family, I have never
experienced such a warm and supportive community as there is here in Aylsham.

·
My husband Fred and I
made many friends through ACT and our
local church and were overwhelmed with the kindness
and support we received over the years. Never more so than when my dear husband
had a serious stroke.
·
We had no choice but to
find a place for Fred in a nursing home in Sheringham. As caring as the nursing
home was, I missed Fred desperately and worried constantly about how I could
spend time with him. When Fred had another stroke and I was told that I was
unable to bring him home, I felt lost and unhappy, life felt very bleak indeed.
·
Travelling back and forth to
Sheringham to visit Fred felt like an
impossible situation. However, thanks to
the unselfish support of family, friends and members of ACT, I am able to visit
Fred several times a week.

·
ACT gives me the gift of hope and companionship, I am able to spend a
lot of time with Fred, join my many friends for wonderful social events and
attend the lunches at the local Methodist Church and
Maingay House, and the food is so good! I owe a great deal to ACT and their
many volunteers, as do many of the friends we
have in Aylsham.
