AYLSHAM
and DISTRICT CARE TRUST
How does
it work?
·
Aylsham Care Trust (ACT) was founded in 1985 and since then has been
providing a range of services to older people and people with disabilities in
and around the Aylsham district.
·
The work of ACT is built upon the firm belief that caring for each other
binds our community together. Social activity and fellowship is at the heart of
every strong community and we can enrich and extend our lives by preventing
isolation and loneliness. ACT is committed to providing help, transport and the
opportunity to enjoy social events, particularly for those who would otherwise
be isolated, lonely or too frail to attend without help.
·
The social calendar for ACT is a busy one, every day of the year
someone, somewhere is available or working on behalf of ACT and the local
community. The success of our work is attributable to both the giving spirit of
our volunteers and, of course, our many years of experience in providing these
services.
·
Our Co-ordinator deals with hundreds of calls throughout the year from
people in need of help. Contacting the right volunteer or service, offering a
listening ear when needed and responding with sensitivity is an essential part
of this role.
We are grateful
for our team of volunteers, for without helpers we can do nothing.
